Cofnod is launching a new initiative, Monad of the Month, to encourage recorders to get out to locations with few or no records. Every month we will be promoting one monad in each vice-county in the hope of filling in some of the gaps on our maps.

Here is Bwletin 138 - a special edition for Eisteddfod Llanrwst. The back page, skilfully designed by Gareth Pritchard, features Y Gogarth, the Great Orme, a great place for you to visit while in the area. On the centrefold there is a scrapbook of Llanrwst gleanings taken from the Tywyddiadur, and a selection of graphs and images illustrating different aspects of phenology. “What is phenology?” I hear you ask. Visit the Cymdeithas Edward Llwyd stand on the Maes to learn more.

Bird Recording North Wales is a newly formed platform for the CBRG and COS under one banner. A place for birdwatchers to find out all the going's on within North Wales. The main function of these two bodies is to produce the annual bird reports for the counties of North Wales, and of course to provide bird-oriented activities for members.
The website features a number of online services aimed at making bird watching in North Wales much easier.
Deallt ecosystemau is an exciting pilot project designed to get people to take an active interest in finding out more about their local environment and in particular bats.
This project is taking place in Anglesey and Gwynedd, and in Pembrokeshire between September 2018 to October 2019. The project lets members of the public borrow a bat detector pack from a loan centre and to put the detector out in a location of their choice for a few nights. BCT will analyse the recordings and send a report back. The information gathered will help us better understand the distribution of bats and to help direct future conservation strategies.
