Between 10am and 5pm there will be an opportunity to call in at the Bioblitz basecamp at the amphitheatre at Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw to learn more about the species we’re hoping to find during the day and take part in wildlife themed craft activities. This is also where Cofnod the local record centre will be set up busy entering all the records online so that we’ve got a running total of the different species spotted throughout the day.
A full timetable of activities have been planned with an array of wildlife experts ensuring we’ve explored as many of the different habitats found in the area as possible. From kayaking in search of sea birds, scavenging the strandline for shark egg cases, enjoying the dawn chorus, wandering the woodlands searching for lichens or heading up to the heathland in the company of our special guest Iolo Williams, there will be plenty to get involved with during the day.
All activities are free. Please use the National Trust car park at Llanbedrog beach - £5 all day or free for National Trust members and arrive early if it’s a sunny day as the car park may fill up with beach goers.
