Are you interested in finding out more about wildlife? If so, volunteers are needed to help with national or locally run surveys. Sometimes training is available as part of these but our calendar also has details of other training courses, which may help improve your species identification and survey skills. Use the search facility to choose between Surveys , Training , Events or Meetings , or search by date or keywords.
Our calendar is not exhaustive and we need you to send us details of relevant events to keep it up to date. You may also find details of other biodiversity related events on the Wales Biodiversity Partnership website.
Lots of international, national and local wildlife events to participate in over the year.
Between 10am and 5pm there will be an opportunity to call in at the Bioblitz basecamp at the amphitheatre at Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw to learn more about the species we’re hoping to find during the day and take part in wildlife themed craft activities. This is also where Cofnod the local record centre will be set up busy entering all the records online so that we’ve got a running total of the different species spotted throughout the day.
A full timetable of activities have been planned with an array of wildlife experts ensuring we’ve explored as many of the different habitats found in the area as possible. From kayaking in search of sea birds, scavenging the strandline for shark egg cases, enjoying the dawn chorus, wandering the woodlands searching for lichens or heading up to the heathland in the company of our special guest Iolo Williams, there will be plenty to get involved with during the day.
All activities are free. Please use the National Trust car park at Llanbedrog beach - £5 all day or free for National Trust members and arrive early if it’s a sunny day as the car park may fill up with beach goers.

Join NWWT for an opportunity to learn about and marvel at swifts in action as they return to their nests after a day's feeding on the wing. Bring binoculars and a notebook.
All meetings aim to improve scientific understanding of the flora of the county as well as improving our plant identification skills, and of course, having fun!
All meetings start at 10am and we expect to finish around 4pm, unless otherwise specified.
Joining instructions are available from Gail.
Come and enjoy this fascinating post-industrial nature reserve with a wide range of nature-themed activities aimed at people of all ages available throughout the day! Bring a picnic.
Wildlife events across Wales.
All Cofnod events are on hold until further notice.
We intend to reschedule many of these events later in the year (depending on future government advice), but some may have to be cancelled.
We'll post updates as and when available.
